Communication and relationships need to be fostered. Games offer a fun, collaborative approach separate from the normal workload that strengthens your team’s communication skills. Group games build your team’s trust and offer variety to the workday, all while reinforcing the notion that your employees should always be working together and building camaraderie.

Beach Ball Hot Potato
This game is best for departments trying to strengthen their relationships or for integrating new hires. A manager will write questions on a beach ball. Like standard hot potato, play some fun, upbeat music while tossing the beach ball between people. When the music stops, whoever has the beach ball has to answer the question closest to their hand.
You and Me Go Together…
One manager, or one team member, should brainstorm pairs, items that go together, such as salt and pepper, Minnie and Mickey Mouse, peanut butter and jelly, etc. Write one of each pair on separate pieces of paper, so peanut butter would be on one and jelly would be on a different sheet. Tape one piece of paper on each person’s back. Participants have to ask each other strategic questions to determine what their word is. Once they know what they are, they must find their partner. Once they’ve found their match, they can sit down.
Give each person a picture of an object, a city, an animal, etc. Have one person start the story with their picture. Continue around the circle and each consecutive person has to add to the story by incorporating their picture. The game builds creativity and quick thinking while providing a few laughs.
Employee engagement should be built upon in many different ways; continuing to do the same things over and over again, they lose their novelty. Switch up your day with games!
