Children’s Cancer Center Levy Tour

On Saturday, August 24th the loving children from the Children’s Cancer Center SAIL program joined the Levy Recognition team for an interactive learning experience. The Children’s Cancer Center Levy Tour consisted of fun activities and learning about Levy's many different ways of producing awards.

The Children’s Cancer Center’s SAIL program stands for Students Achieving through Interactive Learning. With sponsors such as Levy Recognition and Panera, the Children’s Cancer Center is able to offer interactive tutoring programs for children diagnosed with cancer or chronic blood disorders and their siblings. The program is offered on weekends and provides one-on-one tutoring, as well as educational activities provided by experts in the community, such as Levy Recognition. SAIL teaches children fun skills like cooking, painting, and even how to play an instrument.

Several children were split up into different groups with Levy volunteers and a Children’s Cancer Center volunteer. The children were shown how our laser machine, direct print, hand painting, and medal casting departments functioned. While in the direct print department, the children made smiley face pins and in the laser department, the children were able to make custom desk/door plaques with just about anything they wanted on it. The children were then shown around the jewelry department to see how casting worked and they were able to paint their own medallion. Once we were all done with the tour each child built their own trophy with whatever topper and column color they could imagine.

We couldn’t be any more thankful to be able to host this event for the SAIL program’s children; it’s an exceptional cause and provides outstanding learning experiences for children diagnosed with cancer or chronic blood disorders and their siblings.

The Children’s Cancer Center Levy Tour had several Levy Recognition volunteers from their team that attended and assisted in the event. We would love to take notice and thank all of these volunteers and many more: Janel, Amanda, Vanessa, Kristina, Allison, Jared, Christy, Nancy, Amber, Pat, Larry, Steve, Tina, Allen, Mike, Michele, Vanessa and Liz.
