Knead for Knowledge

For over 10 years, Covelli Family Limited Partnership has been partnering with the Children’s Cancer Center.  In 2012, the Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge Program was launched in an effort to combine Covelli Family Limited Partnership’s passion for education with their love of the Children’s Cancer Center.

The Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge Scholarship Program was developed to offer scholarships for Florida students who have had a diagnosis of cancer or chronic blood disorder in the Tampa Bay area before the age of 21.

Funding for the Scholarship Program is provided by donations through the Community Breadbox Program, fundraisers throughout the year, and through donor support. Each year, Levy Recognition is happy to donate to the event. The children at the Children's Cancer Center create drawings and paintings as gifts for the event sponsors. The artwork is framed and affixed with a nameplate engraved with the donor's name. Levy Recognition creates the nameplates as part of our donation. The artwork is displayed at the event and sponsors can see their names as they enter the banquet. At the end of the night, sponsors are invited to take their frame and display it at their place of business.

As a way of saying “thanks,” the Children’s Cancer Center, along with the Covelli Family, invited two of our staff members to attend this year's scholarship presentation. The travel inspired theme made the event fun and exciting for all of the guests. Seeing the students receive scholarships that will help them further their education is such a special thing. Even more special when you know that child has fought and won the battle with childhood cancer. We are so happy to have been part of such a life-changing event.
