Levy Recognition (Levy) is pleased to be a sponsor of the Sixth Annual Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge Scholarship Dinner, held on May 10, 2018.
The Covelli Family Limited Partnership, owners of more than 80 Panera Bread restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, has been collaborating with the Children’s Cancer Center to put on the very special scholarship program for survivors of childhood cancer. This annual event celebrates the courage, strength, and resilience of cancer survivors as well as recognizes them for their academic achievements.
This year, the Covelli Family Limited Partnership presented an award total of $65,000 in scholarships to 24 winners during a Hollywood themed dinner at the PaLevy Ceia Country Club. It was lights, camera, action as scholarship award winners, along with their families, walked the red carpet for an evening of Hollywood glam. Levy was honored to attend the event and celebrate the academic success of young students who will be off to college in the fall thanks to scholarships provided by donations through the Community Breadbox Program, fundraisers throughout the year, and through donor support.
To show thanks, the Children’s Cancer Center creates special artwork for each donor. Children at the Children’s Cancer Center produce colorful drawings and paintings to be framed as a special gift to each donor. Since the scholarship program’s inception, Levy has donated nameplates engraved with donor names affixed to artwork. After the event, donors proudly take the artwork back to their place of business for display.
While it is important to recognize donor contributions to such an event, it is equally important to recognize the students who received the donated scholarships. Award recipients were chosen based on their essay entries that reflected remarkable attitudes, courage, and perseverance.
As an awards manufacturer, Levy wanted to do more to recognize these children for their strength and touching stories. They donated custom crystal awards for the scholarship recipients. The awards recognized the sponsor supporting the scholarship winners and commemorated the special night. The awards were also engraved with both the Panera Bread and Children’s Cancer Center logos, as well as the recipient’s name, and the scholarship award level.
Congratulations to the 2018 Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge Scholarship recipients. Levy is proud to have been part of recognizing the deserving scholarship recipients. Seeing the students receive scholarships that will help them further their education is such a special thing. Even more special when you know that child has fought and won the battle with childhood cancer. The employees of Levy Recognition never cease to be inspired by the children, their families, and the donors who help make the Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge event so amazing.
