Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon

Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon took place this past weekend, with the race kicking off at 7:30 am at Adventure Island. Kids 6 through 14 competed in the USA Triathlon sanctioned event.

Every participant received a “Swag Bag” with registration, which included an Under Armour shirt, a complimentary “Stay and Play” pass to Adventure Island the day after the race, and a chance to win a children’s road bike, as well as a participant medal. The top three in each category, categories are determined by age, received a trophy and an additional pass to Adventure Island.

The Triathlon allows the kids to swim, bike, and race through and around Adventure Island (something we were jealous about—coolest race course ever!). The day kicked off with the swimming portion in the Lazy River and continued through the volleyball courts to an outside area where the kids’ bikes were waiting for them. Once they completed the half mile bike for JV, one mile for Varsity, they, literally, raced it out for the last leg, running through the Gavin Lambert Finish Line where their medals awaited them.

This was the Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon’s fourth year, and it was sold out!

Levy Recognition has been providing the medals for the Triathlon since its inception, and it’s one of our favorite events of the year! This year, two of our staff members were able to volunteer; talk about some inspiring kids! We loved seeing the event in action and the joy of the kids.

Thank you to the Tampa Bay Sports Commission for holding such a great event and to all of the other sponsors as well for making it possible!

Congratulations to all of the participants and the winners. We can’t wait for next year!
